Well hello there!  Coffee to the right, new Glass Animals album on the headphones, time to do some words.

TopWebComics.  I’m standing in the shower this morning, and my lovely wife walks up with her laptop and says “I know what this morning’s blog post is going to be about,” then turns the screen toward me to show Middleways at number 100 (as I look at the front page, it’s at 93, so still with the awesomeness).  Still early in the month, but by the 4th of the month it’s usually in the low two hundreds.  THANK YOU FOLKS FOR VOTING AND WHATNOT, YOU HAVE MADE MY HOLIDAY WEEKEND.

Story.  New characters, new goals, and the wider world (good and bad) of Middleways is opening up as we approach page (holy crap) 250– hope you’re enjoying the story, ’cause I’m still enjoying telling it.

Art.  Getting quicker, and I like how Sheila looks.  I know a lot of comic artists get criticized for something called “sameface,” a condition where all of their characters vaguely (or not so vaguely) resemble one another.  However, when I started doing this a little over two years ago, I’d have given {insert body part here} to have the problem of sameface, so I might be forgiven for grinning like an idiot if someone says all my characters look alike right now.  Better than yesterday and whatnot, ya know?

Merchandise.  Okay, so I’ve finally started the process of setting up a web store, and at this point I have exactly one item that will be ready and available some time tomorrow afternoon (I won’t tell you what it is, but it might be SCHO CUTE).  I won’t lie to you; I’m 90% doing it ’cause I want one, and if I can have one, you ought to be able to get one too.  There will be other bits available as time goes on and I get better at this stuff, so if you’re interested in seeing something from Middleways, drop a line or a comment!

 Miscellaneous awesome:

  • If you’re a new reader, welcome!  Archive binge, comment to your heart’s content, vote early, vote often!
  • Laws yes, I still need to finish redrawing page 2, and you’d think a week’s break would give me time to do that, but you know how life is:  “Nice free time you got there… be a shame if something happened to it.”
  • Haven’t done the disqus changeover because I’m not convinced the change/inconvenience to commenters would be worth it.  I’m pretty sure it’s just a matter of a few clicks for me, but I don’t want to change anything for you if you don’t get anything out of it.

Have a good week, and thanks again for reading!
